Coffee Roasting sesh at Cafe Pluck

If you are regulars on the blog, you would know that we take our coffee seriously, VERY seriously. The day has to start with a fine glass of creamy cold coffee, progresses with tanks full of Americano (especially when at the desk job) and ends with excursions and trying the innumerable coffee cocktails that keep popping up. So, when we got a chance to be past of a coffee roasting session, we jumped in without a second thought. Cafe Pluck at Pullman has an exclusive coffee menu and an adorable in-house Barista to guide you through.

Cafe Pluck employs Chikmangalur coffee beans from Bangalore and roasts the light green beans to a robust medium-dark flavor. The roasting process takes about 15 minutes and the magic beans are then concocted into gorge worthy coffee preps. We started with a simple cupcake cold coffee and a classic Arabica black. Served with a side of cookies, the cold coffee was lightly flavored with a delish chocolate hint and super satiating. The Arabica, is a smooth brew with low acidity and a strong coffee flavor. CaPhe Sua De – a shot of espresso, skimmed milk, a creamy bite of chocolate and iced water. The iced water is the first shot and acts as a palate cleanser, bite on the chocolate and take small sips of coffee, and if you are already not a sucker for the combination, you will be post this shot. As for me, this happens to be my absolute favourite morning doze. Cafe Bomban – a double espresso shot with sweetened condensed milk, stir lightly and drink in one shot – the intermingling flavors of coffee and thick cream are tantalizing to the core. Affogato – a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a hot espresso shot – this Italian dessert coffee is a must have.

We also gorged on the Cafe Pluck chicken burger and exotic mushroom with truffle oil risotto. The chicken burger is huge and comes with a side of fries and coleslaw. The juicy chicken patty covered with melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, this well dressed burger is super satiating. The huge portion of risotto comes with shreds of cheese, dollops of truffle oil and crunchy bits of mushrooms. The creamy risotto is a tad heavy on the belly and make sure you eat it piping hot.

We finished our meal with an Opera pastry.
