#Foodtrucking with MeKong Bowl

If you have been following us, you would have read about our #foodtrucking experiences. Thinking we had exhausted all the interesting options at Leisure Valley, Sector 29, our visits reduced substantially before we chanced upon another amazing option.
Needless to say this place has become all the more happening after the dawn of winter with the food trucks forming a sort of gully with seating options in between making it easier to make a choice among the wide variety.

MeKong Bowl is a recent addition offering Pan Asian cuisine in the limitations of a food truck. A doodled over truck with red lanterns and small tea-lights on the tables, they have picked up elements and dishes from all over the place, added a few desi fusion favorites and have concocted a beautiful menu. We started with the chicken thukpa. A traditional Tibetan soup made with chicken broth, shards of chicken and jullienned veggies – this thick soup is a must have for the season.

Next we tried their chilly momos – a move over from the classic momos – humongous momos, lightly fried and tossed in chilly sauce. The slightly crunchy skin ensures that the momos don’t get soggy too quickly. Generously stuffed with fresh chicken, the momos were a toothsome affair.

Crispy chilly mushroom – Button mushrooms coated with cornflour and tossed in a sweet chilly sauce with bell pepper and spring onions. This was a simple and yet a mind boggling preparation!

Kunyit fried chicken – also deemed as the Malaysian fried chicken is coated with whole spices, with a tinge of coconut flavor to it and fried with curry leaves. The influence of South Indian cuisine was heavily evident on this chicken dish lending it a homely zest.

Korean chicken wings – juicy drumsticks lined with Korean paste. These were previously served with chicken wings which were later swapped with drumsticks. These were juicy, a tad sweet and completely delish.

Pocket fish Thai style – fresh fish coated with  crumbly crust and crispy fried tossed with Thai flavors. A crispy on the outside, palatable and juicy on in the inside, this was beautifully done with lemon grass and coconut flavors.

For Mains we tried their Thai Green curry with steamed rice. A meal bowl with rice, basil and green curry. The curry was a tad thicker than usual, but the flavors were spot on.
