Mineority by Saby

Being a die-hard fan of Lavaash by Saby when I discovered Mineority by Saby in Pune, it had to go on my itinerary without a second thought. The lively cafe is popping with colors, windows, kantha print couches, quirky wall art, and an illustrious bar. We visited the cafe on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with an almost full house and some hearty live singing.

Chef Saby brings to you food from across the cities dominant with the mining community, crafted cocktails and a lot of personal stories and experiences. They also have a terrace seating which is under renovation currently but be sure to keep an eye out for it.

We had reached for late lunch, so the tandoori options were busted. We opted for a Shoe Roll and  Ethopian dorawat with injera. We intended to also order dessert but were bursting after. The shoe roll – fluffy dumplings of choux pastry, cheese, mushrooms and black pepper, served with fresh kasundi and a cheddar and chilly dip. Crispy balls filled with delicious cheese and crunchy mushrooms, the winning bet was the fresh, fresh kasundi which supplemented the shoe roll only too well. Ethiopian dorawat with injera – a traditional fiery African chicken stew served with a soft pancake. A huge multi-grain soft pancake, with a very home like spicy thick gravy, succulent on the bone chicken and potatoes and an onion, tomato and cucumber kachumber salad with chillies and lemon dashes.

Even though my heart lies with Lavaash, I would definitely want to re-visit Mineority to try some of their more signature dishes.
