Tandoori Momos and more at QDs

QD’s the curator of the famous Tandoori Momos opens its new outlet in DEL15, food court of Moments Mall Kriti Nagar. They have mostly been catering to college students and their two flagship outlets in Satyaniketan and Hudson have been a hit. They ventured in the West some three months back and their popularity has been increasing ever since. Their red and white counter is bright and becomes the center of attraction of the entire food court.

We started the meal with a wide drinks, Kala Katta, Lemonade, Fruitbeer, Chocolate Shake and Mint Mohito. While the chocolate shake was too sweet for my taste the Mohito had an excess punch of lemon. Although The Kala Katta and Fruit beer were good, Kala Katta had flavours of AamPanna mixed with the taste of Kala Katta. Quite Refreshing!

Next up the famous Tandoori Momos , the thing about QD’s is their quality is very consistent the chicken feels a little dry but with the amazing cihlly garlic dip they are savory.

Chilli Chicken dry, chicken lollipop, Afghani Tangri and Paneer tikka were up next. The chilli chicken dry was the dish of the day, Tender succulent pieces of chicken tossed with diced bell peppers and onions – very palatable. With soft chicken fried to perfection the chicken lollipop were relished though it could have been spicier.PaneerTikka was delectable, it was marinated and cooked very well. The Afghani Tangri was slightly tough, the marination was good but the chicken just didn’t have the tenderness.

For the mains we had North Indian, Paneer Lababdaar,Chicken Lababdaar, Butter Chicken and Dal Makhini. Along with that we had a portion of chilli chicken gravy and Hakka noodles. The noodles were thin and tossed well with crispy vegetables on top. The chilli chicken gravy was just decent, nothing too special. North Indian was quite impressive with Paneer and Butter Chicken stealing the show. Butter chicken had a creamy gravy with s light tinge of sweetness which was perfect. The gravy of Paneer Lababdaar was equally good, spicy and topped with ginger juliennes even the presentation was good. The Chicken Lababdaar wasn’t upto the mark mainly because of the chicken, it was not tender enough the gravy again coming to the rescue.

The thick Dal Makhini topped with cream was quite heavy and it is sure to fill up your belly.

I especially loved the garlic Naan they served , topped with loads of garlic and butter, it was soft and tasted amazing with the wide variety of food we had!

We wound up our meal with some exemplary desserts – Red Velvet, Belgian chocolate pastry and Chocolate truffle. While the Red velvet was really fluffy, the other two were slightly dry. They all tasted amazing though.
