Twist and Shout for both party and fine dine

TWIST made its mark with its plush interiors and gorgeous wine collection. Their array of dimsums, dry authentic curries and noodle bowls. Their wine cellar is much talked about, with a temperature control. They have recently separated their fine dine areas  and bar, Twist and Shout – they have added a pretty awesome series of Geisha paintings, a gorgeous outside dining area and their meaty selections, especially appetizers are killer.
Started with a classic Sangria – slight sweet and as good as ever.

Started with a Chicken Jaanam Naanza – minced chicken jaanam kebab stuffed in a fluffy tandoori parantha topped with crunchy onions, black and green olives, cherry tomatoes, sauteed onions and rocket leaves. This was not a normal naanza, but it was definitely one that I have loved the most. The stuffed kulcha was smothered with an achari sauce and the crunchy, leafy vegetables make this a delicious bar bite.

We started with Chicken in Chilly oil dimsums – succulent chicken dumplings floating in chilly oil and topped with fried garlic and spring onions. Orchid mushrooms – mushrooms stuffed with silken tofu, coated in a flavorsome munchurian sauce and served over crunchy dehydrated onions. Yummy. Peri Peri and coconut crusted prawns – peri peri spice rubbed prawns with hints of the cooling coconut milk, the prawns were too dry and far less juicy to make an impact on your taste buds. Mutton galauti kebab with ulte tawe ka parantha – minced mutton tipped with a little rose aroma and served on bite sized paranthas. The paranthas were rather dry but the galautis melt in your mouth in no time and so palatable. Murgh Tikka Cumin Pepper – succulent chicken tikka with jeera and an underlining taste of pepper. Served with rocket leaves, onions and olives, the chicken tikka is super tantalizing with the creamy and cumin flavor.

For the mains, we tried their executive set lunch meals – Red Thai curry with steamed rice – lemon grass and creamy coconut milk simmered with loads of fresh vegetables and lemon grass – perfectly balanced and so satiating. Chicken Jaanam tikka platter and Mutton Barrah platter – creamy dal makhni with tons of butter, buttery paranthas and naans. The chicken jaanam tikka, succulent bite sized pieces of meat are yummilicious. Mutton barrah lamb chops were not as good as the galauti and were just about average.

TWIST with SHOUT – these guys are creating lots of buzz with partying and fine dine alike. Don’t miss out on their naanza and Thai curry. Yumm!
