Chicken krapow
In Thai, Pad means “stir-fried”, Krapow means “holy basil” and Gai means “chicken”. So literally, the dish translates to stir-fried basil chicken. And it is actually that easy to make!

- 500 g Chicken mince
- 1 cup Onion chopped
- 1 tbsp Ginger sliced
- 1 tbsp Garlic chopped
- 1 unit Red chilly
- 1½ tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 cup Holy basil
Heat oil in a pan, add onions and cook for 2 minutes until they start to become soft. Add sliced ginger, garlic and chillies and mix. Cook for another minute.
Add the chicken mince and cook for 3-4 minutes on high heat. Season with salt, soy sauce, fish sauce and honey (you can also use brown sugar), mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes.
Add roughly torn basil leaves, mix and cook 3-4 minutes.
Serve over steaming hot rice, with some more holy basil leaves and a sunny side up.
