To mark its 25th anniversary, La Piazza has also come up with a special reserve in collaboration with Fratelli.

The meal starts with freshly baked focaccia, olive tapenade, balsamic and olive oil. Their focaccia is kind of a legend, and rightly so. And while we chomped on the fresh bake, an elaborate Antipasti buffet section awaited us. Fresh salads, cheese, Italian cold cuts and meats. Fresh pesto pasta, bocconcini, artichoke hearts, fresh olives and sauces. The highlight of the Antipasti were obviously the fresh cold cuts and salads. I also really like the tenderloin carpaccio and lightly tossed calamari.

The main course started with two beautifully crafted pies – Pepperoni pizza and Pizza La Piazza. Fresh ingredients, a wonderful authentic Italian thin crust and fresh cheese. Their mushroom risotto and spaghetti Aglio-e-Olio are some of the best preparations in the city. Spaghetti tossed with fresh garlic, olive oil, chilly flakes and seasoning. The creamy risotto with porcini mushrooms plays with all your senses beautifully. Check it out here.
The mains also included a ricotta stuffed tortellini with hints of truffle oil. When it is the truffle season, they need some into the dough (think of heaven on a plate). Another dish that completely blew me off was the chicken breast stuffed with sundried tomatoes, cheese and basil. A lushly rendered chicken breast, loads of cheese, creamy mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables.

We ended our marvellous meal with only but the best tiramisu and a personalized molten chocolate cake. (Mine is here) The Tiramisu is a winner on all levels, the espresso, mascarpone and Amaretto.
