Pho King Awesome has been a very successful as a delivery outlet and they recently popped a beautiful cafe in Saidulajab which gives you major Santorini feels. Beautiful whites and blues intermingled with floral wreaths, this place transports you to Greece on the outdoors and rustic cafe interiors. Pho King specializes in Vietnamese cuisine panning out to Asian, burgers, sandwiches and a few desi rolls.
Starting out with their excellent range of dumplings – chicken and prawn shanghai, chicken coriander dumplings, shitake mushroom dumplings. Their range of dim sum is simply marvelous, hand rolled, soft outside and in a beautiful blue in the case of the coriander dumplings. Freshest meats and steamed to a flavorsome perfection. My favorite remains the shitake. Char sui pork bao – melt in your mouth delectable pork with lettuce, spring onion, cucumbers and topped with spicy mayonnaise. The bao itself could have been softer but I absolutely loved the crispy pork.
Our mains included the Chef’s special crispy okra, Nasi Goreng and rendang curry with lamb. French beans, crunchy okra, and eggplant in a spicy oyster sauce. The vegetables are pretty crunchy and a real treat made from mundane things. Rendang curry with lamb was spectacular! The curry was slightly thicker than usual but the silken lamb pieces and caramelized onions are drool-worthy. The Nasi Goreng is nothing when it comes to presentation, rather humble, but it tasted amazing. The spicy fried rice with chicken is topped with a fried egg, yakitori, fresh greens, and prawn cracker. Spicy and so full of punchy flavors.
Finished the meal with perfect darsaan, honey glazed flat noodles, and ice cream. Have also tried their Khow Suey on a previous occasion and needless to say it was so toothsome. Must try their Nasi Goreng and dumplings.
