Kebab Gali has been an absolute favorite ever since I visited their Malviya Nagar outlet and then my love grew stronger after getting a taste of their dahi ke kebab at their Vasant Kunj outlet. Their brand new outlet at DLF SuperMart1 is creating buzz already and saw a lot of foodies on a regular weeknight too. The interiors are done in the classic Kebab Gali way with quirky nitty gritties.
We started with the classic and my all time favorite – dahi ke kebab. Soft and coated with sesame seeds, the dahi ke kebabs were not as fluffy or creamy as I remember them but quite delectable anyway.
Chicken khurchan in roti – a very intriguing and flavorsome mix of crispy chicken in soft rotis. The spicy toss of chicken with bell pepper and chillies works perfectly in the crisp roti.
I have taken to trying chaach at different places – this one was served in a skull bottom glass and was a tad bit too thick.
For main-course we devoured their balti mutton, martban chicken and chicken biryani. The chicken biryani came in the traditional handi with mirchi ka salan and raita – the biryani was aromatic and the chicken was beautiful and tender.
The balti mutton – the gravy is luscious and flavorsome to an ambrosial consistency. The mutton was a little tough though. Martban chicken comes in a tiny martban and is a rich and creamy preparation with melt in your mouth chicken. The garlic naan like always was gorgeously dowsed with garlic bits and butter.
I have always meant to gorge on their shahi tukda but I never really get around to dessert after the toothsome meal. But, next time. For sure.
Have you visited Kebab Gali yet? Don’t miss out on their biryani and appetizing Mughlai food.
