Chilli Noodles – the easiest 15 minute recipe you can whip up at any time of the day!

As a child, Maggi has its own rebellious charm, but growing up it wears off. There are those midnight Maggi-specific pangs. But other than that you want something quick and yummy, but also, not instant noodles that promise to be done in 2 minutes but that almost never happens! These noodles are super simple to make – you can also add your choice of veggies or protein to make it a healthy meal bowl. Udon simply tossed with soy, rice wine vinegar, honey, and chilli oil. This is one of the easiest fixes and tastes oh so good!

Ingredients for Chilli Noodles – serves 1

  • Udon – 1 oz
  • Salt – 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 1/4 tsp
  • Rice wine vinegar – 1/2 tsp
  • Honey – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli oil – 1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Broccoli and mushroom – 1 cup, chopped (optional)
  • Garlic – 1 tsp, chopped (optional)
  • Sesame oil – 1 tbsp (optional)

Method

  • Bring a pot of water to boil, add salt and cook the noodles as per the instructions on the packet. Usually takes about 7-8 minutes.
  • Microwave the broccoli and mushrooms on high for 90 seconds. Drain any excess water.
  • In a pan, heat the oil and add the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds. Add the mushrooms and broccoli and stir fry for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, chilli oil and honey.
  • Add the cooked noodles and mix well.
  • Top with the veggies and sesame seeds.

CHOMP AWAY!

Adding the veggies is completely optional, you can skip that step or add grilled chicken or prawns instead. Both would take almost the same time to cook.
