Olive Bistro charmed everyone with its gorgeous interiors, pizzas and who could really forget the cutest teddy bear. Dumping the baggage literally, the all-new OLLY, Gurgaon is here for some sumptuous breakfast and great coffee. The cutest most vintage looking typewriter, correction, working typewriter, lots of greens, rustic jute bags, and an enviable takeaway coffee programme. They are all about feeding you healthy and tantalizing things, in the most healthy, and sustainable way.
Starting off with coffee
Salted caramel iced latte topped with caramel popcorn. I really thought this could be improved because my coffee was slightly too watery but otherwise I have personally had excellent experience with Koinonia Coffee Roasters.
Breakfast
The Olly Brekker is one of the best and absolutely fantastic breakfast options here at Olly, Gurgaon. It’s an awesome wholesome plate with fluffy scrambled eggs, meatiest pork sausages (really meaty sausages), crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, roasted mushrooms with a dash of white wine and toasted sourdough bread. Hands down one of the best breakfast spread ever! PBT Sandwich – Pulled chicken, crispy bacon, semi-dried tomatoes, cheddar, and avocado. The sandwich was really hearty and the home fries served alongside were blissful.
Small Plates
Having developed a recent love for all sorts of cheese, I absolutely loved The Big Cheese – Burrata, topped with fresh basil, honeyed whole coriander seeds (which did not bode very well), with a side of freshly cut oranges. Chunky, fresh cheese cut with citrus, this is summer perfect. Prawns Pil Pil – prawns swimming in olive oil, chilly and whole chunks of garlic, served with baguette. The prawns were a winning shot, especially because of the simplicity.
Pizza & Pasta
Because of cooking pasta so often, I end up reading more about. It is an unsaid rule that dry sauces always bode well with long kinds of pasta ergo, spaghetti, and the saucier sauces do well with shorter ones, ergo penne. This Pesto Pasta had the freshest pesto but the penne sort of marred the experience, it would be absolutely fabulous if they would offer an option of spaghetti. The Veggie Flatbread was a testament to the goodness of the old Olive Bistro. Thin crust, freshest spinach, pine nuts, red pepper, caramelized onions, red onions, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze.
The desserts
We started with Brookie – brownie + cookie in a skillet and topped with melting ice cream. Brownie and cookie dough, baked and served super hot in a skillet, topped with ice cream, can’t go wrong with it. Caramel Pop – Panna Cotta, Salted Caramel sauce topped with caramel pop corn. This was kind of a bummer because the panna cotta was not the jelly we are used to, it wasn’t set at all which made it more of a custard than a panna cotta.
Olly should be your go-to place for their perfect breakfast options, coffee, pizzas and well, I personally loved the Brookie (can’t say no to cookie dough)
